Since 2018, the College of Business and Public Management (CBPM) of Wenzhou-Kean University has jointly engaged in the AACSB accreditation process with the College of Business and Public Management (CBPM) of Kean University in the United States, formulated and implemented a series of development plans for the accreditation standards, and obtained pre-accreditation in February 2022. In April 2023, the AACSB expert review team met with the management of Wenzhou-Kean University CBPM, Advisory Board, Curriculum Committee, faculty, staff, and students., to fully understand its work in strategic planning, faculty, curriculum settings, teaching quality and assurance, student training, academic achievements, social impact, and other dimensions, and fully affirmed the achievements of CBPM at this stage and put forward prospects for its future development.

The accreditation process of AACSB consists of five rigorous stages including subscription, self-assessment and application, on-site assessment, committee review, and accreditation and maintenance. The accreditation cycle takes five to eight years. As one of the most rigorous accreditations for quality education standards, AACSB accreditation has always been recognized as the gold standard of accreditation for business colleges worldwide, and it is ranked first in the world for its high accreditation standards and rigorous system. Therefore, it represents the highest level of achievement for a business school and is an essential indicator of world-class business education. AACSB Executive Vice President and Chief Accreditation Officer Stephanie M. Bryant stated, "AACSB accreditation is recognition of excellence for institutions across all fields." As of July 2023, there are just over 950 business colleges worldwide with this accreditation, less than 6% of the total, including top institutions such as Harvard Business School, Wharton School, London Business School, and Tsinghua University's School of Economics and Management.

Dr. Jin Wang, Dean of the College of Business and Public Management School at Kean University, said: "Kean University has been working towards AACSB accreditation for many years and has made it a priority since four years ago. The accreditation will make Kean University more attractive to prospective students, employers, and graduate schools."
