Supply chain management-related majors have been so popular that always highly recommended by American graduates. In recent years, due to the fast growth of China’s e-commerce, international trade, logistics and transportation industries, an increasing number of Chinese companies have entered the global markets. However, supply chain has gradually become a bottleneck for many enterprises, meanwhile, the labor shortage in the supply chain workforce is affecting business worldwide. To meet the needs of rapidly growing market for high-level talents, Wenzhou Kean University introduced the training program of Management – Supply Chain and Information Management Option from Kean University US in 2017.
B.S. in Management develops students’ technical, interpersonal, conceptual, and strategic skills and is committed to empowering students to manage local, national, and international programs, companies, and non-profit organizations.
This management of resources and logistics can be found within and among companies, as these processes are demanded both internally and externally for many businesses. Supply chain professionals need to be able to efficiently integrate the flow of these materials and information through a wide range of sources globally, as businesses are increasingly aiming to improve their customer service experience while reducing overall supply chain costs.
It also involves integration with marketing, product and process engineering, accounting and finance, human resources, environmental, health, safety and quality, facilities management, and information technology. The program integrates Bloomberg terminals fully and partially into relevant courses. The curriculum emphasizes a global perspective not only in terms of the internal operations of manufacturing and service businesses, but also with partnerships among suppliers, customers, and third-party logistic providers worldwide. Therefore, a supply chain management degree provides the knowledge, skills, and tools required to be a supply chain professional and incorporates them into an engaging program and prepares it in a way that can help students stand out among the competition.
In order to cultivate the Management students’ skills such as innovation and communication, WKU carries out a series of promotion measures, and establishes cooperative relationships with many institutions and enterprises. For instance, WKU is a member of China Industry-University-Research Cooperation Promotion Association and Wenzhou China-Africa Chamber of Commerce, participating in various school-enterprise cooperation activities. WKU also maintains regular interaction with the Shanghai American Chamber of Commerce, and keeps in touch with foreign and joint ventures in Shanghai and other regions. A number of high-tech and innovative companies in Zhejiang have established cooperative relationships with WKU, and WKU invited their business leaders to be our entrepreneurial tutors. In 2019, the Business Research & Innovation Center was established in the CBPM building with a clear mission to integrate the professional theoretical knowledge, business technology and social resources, realize effective configuration and effective integration, and enhance the combination of theory with practice in teaching.
